GMAT Exam Preparation
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardized assessment—delivered in English—that helps business schools assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management. Schools use the test as one predictor of academic performance in an MBA program or in other graduate management programs.
In our GMAT Preparation class, we will cover all question types that will appear on the GMAT: Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction, Critical Reasoning, Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency.
- Learn to recognize and avoid common grammar traps used on every GMAT
- Specific formulas to help you quickly analyze GMAT arguments
- Practice material, both paper and computer based, to give you hours of practice on the specific sections on which you need additional practice
- Specialized method for writing the two required essays in the Analytial Writing Assessment portion of the exam
- Classes will combine lectures with timed exercises and reviews with instructors for maximum mastering of skills taught
- Instructors to provide personal attention to areas on which you need additional assistance
Unlike other GMAT Prep programs, your classes at ASC will also help you master the specific math skills that you need to succeed on the GMAT exam. We will ensure that you excel on the GMAT by giving you assistance on the specific math skills you need for a high score. Our class includes instruction on the topics of basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry and word problems with emphasis on their application to GMAT success.
Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA)
2 separate writing tasks, 0 - 6 points score scale
Analysis of an Issue and Analysis of an Argument. Maximum of 30 minutes to complete each.
Quantitative Section
37 multiple-choice questions of two question types, 0 - 60 points score scale
Data Sufficiency and Problem Solving. Maximum of 75 minutes to complete the entire section.
Verbal Section
41 multiple choice questions of three question types, 0 - 60 points score scale
Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning, and Sentence Correction. Maximum of 75 minutes to complete the entire section.
Total Scaled Score (on a scale from 200 to 800)
The total score is a scaled combination of the verbal and quantitative scaled scores, and thus reflects a student's overall performance on the multiple choice sections of the test. The AWA score is independent of and has no impact on the total scaled score.
