Unique summer program for enrichment and preparation for school year academics
Summer is the perfect time to prepare for the school year ahead and get a head start. The same degree of teaching excellence provided during the school year is available during the months of July and August in two intensive academic summer sessions. Students from first to 12th grades are encouraged to apply.
Established in 1994, our summer program is notable for years of service in fostering the bright young minds of tomorrow. Our curriculum is carefully designed by accredited teaching professionals to exceed the Massachusetts Department of Education guidelines for students of all grades. Our teachers are state certified and work at the best schools in the Boston area.
English & Writing Preparation
An intensive course to significantly improve our students‘ overall reading and writing abilities. We aim to foster the following skills:
- Complete understanding of the writing process
- Mastery of essential grammar concepts
- Complete reading comprehension using the most effective methods of reading to understand the main points and supporting details
- Write superb compositions and organize a composition into the main components of a thesis statement, main body and conclusion.
- Analyzing the structure of articles and the combination of sentences for concepts and meaning
- Cultivate the ability to conduct grammatical analysis and understand sentence patterns
- Increased reading speed and perfect reading comprehension
- Ability to write in narrative, informational, persuasive/argumentative, and everyday styles with increased skill
- Develop critical and creative thinking and writing skills
- Completion of open response questions
Advancement in Math
The A+ Math Program features a rigorous and progressive new mathematics curriculum aimed at helping students excel at mathematics at any level. Our comprehensive Math Program addresses basic skills to advanced mathematical concepts. In our math course, we provide the fundamentals for success in both the classroom and in standardized testing.
Students will focus on:
- Working with challenging course materials that encourage advanced thinking
- Learning to interpret and solve word problems
- Enhancing study skills and exam strategies
- Practicing math skills through homework, quizzes and final exam
