University of Massachusetts Boston


The University of Massachusetts Boston is nationally recognized as a model of excellence for urban public universities. The scenic waterfront campus, with easy access to downtown Boston, is located next to the John F. Kennedy Library and Presidential Museum, the Commonwealth Museum and Massachusetts State Archives, and the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate.

Part of the UMass system, UMass Boston combines a small-college experience with the vast resources of a major research university. With a 16:1 student-to-faculty ratio, students easily interact with professors because most teaching occurs in small class sizes. Ninety-three percent of full-time faculty hold the highest degree in their fields.

UMass Boston’s academic excellence is reflected by a student body of 15,989 undergraduate and graduate students. In fall 2019, the university’s nine colleges and schools offered 79 undergraduate programs (bachelor’s degrees, undergraduate certificates, post-baccalaureate certificates) and 114 graduate programs (master’s degrees, doctoral degrees, graduate certificates, CAGS, and post-master’s certificates). The Honors College serves 692 students who thrive on intellectual challenge. Enriched courses probe more deeply into theory or venture further into application.

UMass Boston’s diverse student body provides a global context for student learning, and its location in a major U.S. city provides connections to employers in industries such as finance, health care, technology, service, and education, offering students opportunities to gain valuable in-school experience via internships, clinicals, and other career-related placements.

More than 100 student organizations — including clubs, literary magazines, newspaper, radio station, art gallery, and 16 NCAA Division III sports teams — offer a rich campus life. Students who complete ASC’s Level 6 course meet UMass Boston’s proficiency requirement and may be admitted without a TOEFL score.

Quincy College

Northeastern University is a large, global, private research university well located in both the arts district and the biomedical research corridor of Boston. It is the city’s largest research university, enrolling approximately 16,000 undergraduate and 6,000 full-time graduate students.

Northeastern’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business is accredited by AACSB and, in parallel with the university, has achieved a substantial record of recognition and growth over the recent past. The school enrolls more than 3,500 undergraduate students and 2,200 part-time graduate students, and is distinguished by strong corporate partnerships that support experience-based learning programs at the undergraduate, graduate and executive levels.

The Graduate Certificate for Advanced Study in Management is a unique opportunity for International students to study in Boston for eight months and earn 15 MBA-level graduate credits at Northeastern University D’Amore-McKim School of Business, a premier research university located in the heart of Boston, MA.

D’Amore-McKim allows ASC students to apply to the Graduate Certificate in Management Program after completing ASC’s Level 5 ESL course. Through the Graduate Certificate Program students earn 15 graduate level credits and upon completion of the certificate can receive one year of OPT (optional practical training). Credits from this program could potentially be applied to another degree program. The combination of work / study with at Northeastern helps students build opportunities that develop and shape their professional and educational careers.


Quincy College

Quincy College

As an open access institution which encourages academic achievement, diversity, economic opportunity and lifelong learning, Quincy College facilitates valuable learning relationships with students whose educational and professional futures might otherwise remain unrealized. Quincy College offers Associate’s, nursing, and certificate programs.

Students who complete ASC’s Level 4 course meet Quincy College’s English proficiency requirement and may be admitted without a TOEFL score.

Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology

Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology (est. 1908) is one of New England’s oldest colleges of engineering and industrial technologies. Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology is the only two-year technical college in MA. They are located in the vibrant and historic South End of Boston, at 41 Berkeley Street. 90% of BFIT’s graduates secure employment in their field or go on to continue their education.

BFIT offers 2 Bachelor Degree programs (four-year programs) in Automotive Management and Health Information Technology, as well as Associate Degree programs (two-year programs) in Automotive Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Building Technology and Design, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Technology, Construction Management, Electrical Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, Health Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Opticianry, Technology Business and Management.

After completing ASC’s Level 4 ESL class, ASC students can apply to BFIT without the TOEFL exam.


Bridgewater State University

ASC students can apply for admission without a TOEFL score to Bridgewater State University after completing Level 5 ESL or, for graduate programs, Level 6 ESL. Otherwise, required TOEFL scores are 61 for undergraduate and 79 for graduate programs.


Cambridge College

Did you know that 100% of Lasell students undertake an internship in their field of study? Lasell also offers majors that are SACM approved.

ASC students can be accepted to Lasell College without TOEFL as long as they complete ASC’s Level 5 ESL course.


Lesley University

Lesley University

Lesley University focuses on experiential learning and close collaboration between students and faculty, and providing their students the foundation to create a positive impact in their communities. With 20 undergraduate majors and 80+ advanced degree programs, Lesley is a university with many exciting options. Lesley even has established specialized programs in Expressive Arts Therapies, Integrated Teaching through the Arts, and an Urban Environmental Leadership program to foster sustainability. Lesley is a national leader in quality teacher preparation. They have twice as many education graduates than any other private institution in New England, and they are one of the largest U.S. providers of graduate programs for educators.

Through enrolling in ASC and completing Level 5 ESL language courses, ASC students are able to receive acceptance to Lesley University TOEFL free.

Middlesex Community College

Middlesex Community College (MCC) is one of the largest community colleges in Massachusetts. Located only 25 miles from Boston, Middlesex is an ideal place for students from other countries to begin their educational experience in the United States. New England Institute of Technology

NEIT is one of our partner schools with great tech programs at a great price in Rhode Island. It’s a great choice for students who live south of Boston.

New England Institute of Technology
As a leader in technical career education in Southeastern New England, Rhode Island’s New England Institute of Technology is a private, non-profit technical university offering Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s and Online Degrees in over 55 programs. Each one has been thoughtfully designed with input from both educators and industry experts.

The focus at New England Tech is to give each student a solid balance: a base of analytical skills with hands-on training. Most of our Associate Degree programs can be completed in as little as 18 months and our Bachelor’s Degree programs in as little as 3 years. Today, enrollment has grown to 3,000 students.

The heart and soul of these programs are the teachers. Faculty members have been chosen for their exceptional talent, expertise and practical experience. Equip them with the latest technology and resources, and it’s no wonder our students enter the job market so well prepared.

NEIT requires ASC “Level 5” for undergraduate study and ASC “Level 6” for entry into graduate study.

Wentworth Institute of Technology
